Puerto Maldonado, Peru

Rain forest Today we will fly from Cusco to the rain Puerto Maldonado, once we arrive there we will take a 45 minute boat ride to the inca terra lodge, I can’t wait to get there, the rain forest sounds so cool.

The hotel/resort we will be staying at sounds like it is extremely nice. It looks like we will have a lot to do there. Some of the things that we will most likely do climb a wooden structure that is as wide as the stairs are and rises up just above the canopy it is supported by 3 to 4 wire ropes tied to the ground to keep it steady, let’s just say it doesn’t look very sturdy. Next my dad was thinking that we might go on the “anaconda trail”, I don’t know if I’m ok with this quite yet. It is a raised up structure that you walk on an below you there are snakes and other things you wouldn’t want to **** off.

Although this place is quite nice we will be constantly reminded that we are in the rain forest. The mosquitoes are plentiful and carry yellow fever (don’t worry I got the vaccine). We have treated our cloths with bug spay so strong you can’t let it touch your skin, and loaded up with other bug preventive spays and more. Also the word it that it is HOT, we packed long sleeve shirts and pants to prevent bugs getting a shot at exposed skin I hope we will survive that humid heat.

Over all this is going to be an awesome experience and can’t wait to get there. – pound cake
