Today, we arrived Lima at 5:30 AM. After a comfortable but fully lit flight, I finally improvised to find some darkness.
With my head fully covered by a blanket for a good portion of the trip. Trey began to worry that I would be treated like a terrorist at customs. That may have been the case but a larger problem came up first. Which one of you is Russell Stout? My limited spanish was not enough to explain. It was 20 minutes of confusion and frustration. Finally she decided she had enough and started stamping. Our final entry paperwork shows Russell Sr was born in 1998 and the frustrated agent never actually stamped his passport, which was a problem at every new hotel. They wanted to see the passport Russell Sr used to get into Peru, without a stamp they made us belive his passport was useless.
We made our way to the hotel for check in and breakfast. The told us not to eat fresh fruits or drink juice. We held out for about 5 minutes. If it makes us sick, it least it tasted good. We are staying in the Miraflores district, four blocks from the Pacific Ocean. The morning will be surfing and The afternoon will be a tour of the old town.
I told Trey that he would learn a few things on this trip. I was thinking of a little foreign culture and history. He took that to mean surfing and chasing south american girls. He is proving to be a fast learner. His surf coach was impressed.

Hanging out in Love Park
This is overlooking Miraflores right by our hotel. It is quite a drop down to the ocean.

The closest park is Love Park, where public displays of affection are encouraged. There apparently is a kissing contest held nightly. We have chosen Russell III to be our representative.

We are hitting the market later in search of peruvian fruit.
